Tuesday, bloody tuesday

Today I gave blood for the first time. I'm not gonna lie and say it didn't hurt, cuz it kinda did. Then I got a little nauseated. Then I got some apple juice and cookies.
I'm a hero though, according to the guy. Yep, little old me just saved two lives. That's right. :)
Then they give you a sticker to wear that says "Be nice to me. I gave blood today." So even Biff was nice to me. ;)
BTW, I think I might start calling Dusty the cat "Puff Dusty". Just a thought. He is rather puffy.

OH!! And I ordered my shower curtain finally. The orange towels really work in the bathroom. Yippee! I am iffy on the orange rugs though. Thinking of aqua rugs. The rugs don't have to match the towels, do they? Or is that match the curtains? hahahaha...anyhoo.

Big shout outs to the Tamster and Paul E. Thanks for reading.:)

My Big Fat Weekend

Well I am just BEAT! What a weekend!
Friday night Biff and I had a splendid dinner with Janna and Andrew at Redfish then motored around town to research our next event. We ended up at my place watching Salad Fingers episodes 1-7 which led to Janna and I re-enacting the episodes for the rest of the night. I can't really stop talking like him and Biff is sick of it. He can do the walk perfectly though.

Then I worked a half day Saturday and continued the quest for a shower curtain and towels.
Biff and I went to a couple of places and I finally broke down and bought a stripey curtain and lime green rugs and towels. I get all this mess home and we put it in there and it looks horrible! The green was all washed out but the curtain was ok. Then I checked my mail and had received my sample of the koi goldfish shower curtain!!! As soon as I put it next to the wall I knew it was the one I would have to get. The vibrant colors of the fish told me that my instinct to use orange towels and rugs was spot on. So I will be returning the whole mess and trying to find towels to match this orange fish now. Target had some Biff thought would be perfect.
Then Saturday night we went to a surprise bday party for Brianna. I got to meet all the people she is always talking about and they did not disappoint. It was an amusing evening, but we left around midnight. I am so tired at this point I can barely converse with Biff.

I knew I had to get up early for the MINI club fun run and BBQ today, so I went right to bed. Needless to say I was still awfully tired at 8 am when the alarm rudely interrupted my rest. I called Biff and said I didn't think I could go. He told me to think about it. Then I decided it would be fun and I would go to bed early tonight instead. So I went, had a great time and plan to retire shortly after I finish writing thisszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Pillow Talk

As usual during one of bouts of insomnia, I had a moment of clarity and genius.
I have decided to name my owl pillow "Woodsy Owllen".
A play on Woody Allen and Woodsy Owl.
Yes, I know. You can't believe how clever, talented, and funny I am.
I can hardly believe it myself.

sorry

I have no camera so I cannot post pix, but I need some advice.
Do I go with orange towels and a goldfish theme or do something more predictable, like a bluish green shower curtain and ? towels. Help!
I kinda like the goldfish idea. :)

Ten years ago

...this month, I moved into my litle condo. Ten years ago I thought this was just a stepping stone to a bigger place with a possible man and family involved.

Oh, how the time's have a changed.

I am quite happy living in my little place in the city with all the freedom in the world. I am also 5 minutes away from everything I desire. Well, almost everything. ;)
For the last 5 or 6 years I have been playing what if.
What if I painted the kitchen celery green?
What if I had my dream aqua bathroom?
What if I had some time, energy and friends to make this happen?

That time was yesterday. Those friends were my Mom and Biff. That bathroom is AQUA with a capital WOW. That kitchen is the zest of a lime.
That dream is a reality.

It did not come easy though. The second I slapped on the first bit of green in the kitchen I thought, "I've made a HUGE mistake." (yes, said in my head in true GOB fashion for you Arrested Development fans)
I calmly walked into my bedroom and began crying. My Mom came in and said what is wrong. I said I hate it. She said you are just going to have to get used to it. You have been seeing white walls in here for ten years. She is right in a way. I think the reaction would have been less if I had not gone so extreme with these colors. They are a "little" "bright". But I guess I let everyone else's opinions of what colors to use drown out my little "let's do a lite celery green and a teeny tiny light aqua".
I'm not unhappy with the decisions I've made, but I did NOT get to ease into the idea of painted walls.
Not. at. all.
No easing. We have dived right in.
Pics to follow. Now I get to accessorize the new bathroom. That's actually the most fun!
Thanks Biff for kicking ass!!!
